How to Make an Adorable Easter Bunny Out of an Old Sock {Video tutorial}

How do you celebrate Easter? Our family does all of the traditions—we hide plastic eggs and baskets for our children, paint hard-boiled eggs to eat, and every year our children each get a new Easter bunny pal to cuddle and love over the years to come.

But we do all that with a twist—which is to do as many crafts as possible along the way! Previously, I have shared 40 fun Easter crafts for kids and toddlers, ad 25 cute ideas for homemade Easter baskets. This year, I have an exclusive video which teaches you how you can create a cute Easter bunny using an old sock and some rice. It works great as a decoration or as a toy, and it's an easy enough project that you can do it on your own or with your kids.

Video Instructions:

Materials:

One old sock
Two cups of rice
Glue
Googly Eyes and any sort of small fluff ball for the nose

Here are the steps:

1. The first step is to fill the sock with rice. One easy way to do this (shown in the video) is to stretch the sock over a bowl or cup, hollowing it out inside. You can then spoon the rice in with ease.

2. Next, tie the sock closed, but make sure the rice isn't totally compact inside. You need enough give to pinch the sock together in the middle and tie it off again to form a separate head and body.

3. Cut the top of the sock down to the length you want the ears to be. Then cut down the middle so you have two ears. Continue to cut them so their shape more closely resembles real bunny ears. Arrange them cutely.

4. Tie a ribbon around the bunny's neck.

Ta-da! You now have an adorable homemade Easter bunny!
