I am constantly blown away by all the clever and unexpected uses there are for standard household supplies—like these 25 genius rubber band hacks, or these 16 astonishing paperclip hacks. And now I have found a bunch of surprising uses for another household item … zip ties!
This is a superb video from HouseholdHacker. Most of these uses for zip ties seem fairly obvious now that I've seen them, but I never would have thought of them on my own, that's for sure!
Some of the hacks include:
- Fixing a shower drape
- Fixing a broken drawer
- Temporarily replacing a broken key ring
There is also a really clever hack at the beginning for closing a zip tie in such a fashion that you can open it easily again. While the secure closure of a zip tie is part of its appeal, there are times when you might want to use it just to temporarily hold something together, like a bundle of wires. In a situation like that, you may want to be able to pull it off again quickly and easily. The solution is surprisingly simple: just insert the band upside-down when you are closing the zip tie. This allows you to pull it open again without having to cut through it.
Enjoy the video, and make sure you also check out the other videos posted by HouseholdHacker for more great tips & tricks to simplify your life!
