How to Make S’more Dip – A Genius Twist on a Popular Classic

Ahh, the humble s'more. It's a staple American campfire treat that dates back as far as 1925 – possibly even further. You may already be aware that the name is a contraction of "some more", because it's so damn good, after finishing one, you'll immediately ask for some more! This delicious chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker sandwich is so ingrained in our culture that we even have a National S'mores Day to celebrate it (August 10)!

If you're interested in other ways to enjoy and celebrate marshmallows, have a look at these pretty marshmallow flower cake toppers, and even these ingenious edible marshmallow shot glasses.

Now, I don't want to have to wait for a camping trip in order to indulge, and honestly, now that I'm all grown up, I don't find myself going on as many camping trips as when I was a child. So, lucky for you, I found this fantastic recipe for a no-camping s'more recipe with an interesting twist – it's in dip form! This makes it the perfect sharing dessert after a nice dinner party or outside barbecue. Recipe and detailed instructions available on Hungry Brownie.

To put it very simply, you arrange your semisweet chocolate chips in a baking dish (a cast iron skillet works the best) and cover it with a layer of marshmallows that are cut in half. That goes into the oven for a few minutes so that the marshmallows get nice and toasty, and then you simply dip in your crackers! Genius! Don't make the same mistake I made, though; that molten chocolate lava is super hot, so let it stand for a few minutes before you dive right in and burn the taste buds clean off your tongue.

And if you want to take it up a notch, swap your chocolate chips for peanut butter cups or pieces of your favorite chocolate bar. I promise, you'll find yourself in a chocolate-induced heavenly stupor once you try this!
