Easy and Cute Winter Decoration: Charming DIY Sock Snowmen

Christmastime is fast approaching; sadly, that also means that our funds are dwindling thanks to the endless holiday expenses. Since you know you'll be spending a lot on gifts and food, why not spend a few minutes to make your own home decorations? We found these adorable DIY snowmen that are very easy to make. If you're a crafter then you're likely to have all the necessary tools and components at home already: white socks you're willing to part with, rice, rubber bands, buttons, pins, and a small piece of fabric.

Since these jolly little snowmen really don't take long to make, you could really have some fun and fashion one for each member of the family to rest above your mantelpiece or on windowsills. That's what's great about this project: there's room for customization and personal touches.

Top Tips:
If you don't have any of those map pins for the eyes or nose, you could simply draw them on with a marker, or glue little beads on instead.

If you're planning on keeping these little guys for more Christmases to come, use thread, string or pipe cleaners instead of the rubber bands – over time the rubber bands will degrade, become brittle and eventually break.

If you're worried about attracting unwanted mice with the rice stuffing, you could also try sand or (unused!) kitty litter; just make sure whatever you choose is weighty enough so that your snowmen don't fall over or blow away.
