You've surely heard of the Paleo diet by now. It's one of the most popular healthy eating plans out there today. It's also known as the caveman diet because it involves foods that are not processed and nothing that you wouldn't have eaten, you know back in the caveman days.

Sweet Potato Fries

If you haven't tried sweet potato fries, then you just don't know what you're missing. This particular recipe skips the deep frying and uses a baking method that not only gives them a wonderful flavor, it cuts way down on fat and calories. Plus you know, cavemen didn't really have deep fryers lying around so baking is what makes them Paleo worthy. A drizzle of coconut oil and some paprika give them such a wonderful flavor and this is a great way to get the kids to eat their sweet potatoes. After all, who doesn't love fries? Paleo Omelet Muffins

These breakfast muffins are so easy to make and they're convenient for those on the go. Plus, they follow all the rules of the Paleo Diet. They've got your ham (or sirloin, whichever you prefer) and eggs covered and because they're baked, they're a bit healthier than normal omelets. You can omit the egg yolks and just make an egg white omelet if you're really watching your fat and cholesterol and fill them with peppers, onions, and other yummy ingredients. The best part is they only take about half an hour to prepare and you can make them the night before so they're perfect for busy mornings.

Red Snapper with Zucchini and Fennel

Fish is always a great choice, health-wise and this snapper recipe is prepared with zucchini, fennel seeds, garlic, and other delicious ingredients to make it as tasty as it is healthy. Even better is that studies have shown fennel seeds in low doses to be great for helping to prevent bone loss in postmenopausal women. If you're looking for a recipe to get you started on the Paleo Diet, this is certainly a good one to try. It's got the health benefits of white fish along with the antioxidants of tomatoes in a delicious entrée that everyone in the family is sure to love.

Sausage Stuffed Tomatoes

In just 30 minutes, you can create these amazing tomatoes stuffed with sausage, spinach, onion, and garlic. They're baked of course, so they're healthy and they are so very easy to make. These are perfect for a light dinner and you can save the leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. They would also be great for small gatherings and dinner parties. Just double the recipe to make a dozen. Make them up ahead and pop them in the freezer so you have a great Paleo dinner waiting on you when you need it. Want to really cut down on the fat and calories? Use turkey sausage instead of pork.

Zucchini Fritters

Shredded zucchini makes these fritters healthy and they are of course, delicious. If you love zucchini bread then you are sure to love these fritters. You just shred the zucchini up in a food processor (if you have one – if not, just shred it by hand). Egg, pepper, a bit of sea salt, and coconut oil for cooking give them a wonderful flavor. These are perfect for any time and you can play around with the recipe a bit adding different herbs and spices if you want a different flavor. They are easy to make and go so well with so many different entrees.
