Keep Jeans from Fading

Fold up your jeans and place them in a bowl into which you pour one cup of water and one cup of salt; this will help set the color so that your beloved jeans don't fade quite so quickly. Alternatively, put your jeans into a Ziploc bag and stick it in the freezer – this can help eliminate odors so that you don't have to wash your jeans quite as often, which means less fading.
Prevent Clothing Shrinkage

There are few things quite as disappointing as taking your clothes out of the washer only to realize that they'll now fit your younger daughter or niece better than you. Using cold water can prevent this terrible shrinkage, and, not only that, can also stop the colors from bleeding.
Iron without an Iron

When you really need to get the wrinkles out of your shirt but don't have an iron at hand, just use a blow dryer instead! If you find yourself whipping out that blow dryer a few too many times, though, it's probably tie to invest in an actual iron.
Keep Colors Vibrant

If you want your whites to keep looking crisp and white, simply add a cup of white vinegar to a rinse cycle. To keep dark colors looking bold and new, just add one cup of regular table salt to a rinse cycle. Voilà!
Clean Your Washing Machine

As ironic as it may sound, your washing machine may need a god washing of its own. Add half a cup of mouthwash (yes, mouthwash) to your empty machine and put it on a rinse cycle. As your machine swirls around the mouthwash just like your mouth does in the mornings, the inside of the machine will get disinfected.
