Outdoor Kiddie Fun: How to Make a Water Blob

Outdoor Kiddie Fun: How to Make a Water Blob...
Looking for something fun for the kids (and yourself) this summer? I found the best thing to make that's not too costly but will ensure hours of outdoor entertainment: the water blob! It's basically like a big waterbed that you and the kids can jump, waddle, slip and slide around on – almost like a pool without the actual getting wet part. Although you can definitely spray the top to make it a bit slippier and to keep cool during the heat.

Another brilliant tutorial available on Homemadetoast – How to Make a Leak Proof Water Blob (without tape!).

You will need:

  • 10ftx25ft 4 mil plastic sheeting (you can order it from Amazon)
  • An iron
  • Parchment paper
  • Hose pipe
  • Duct tape

The process of making it isn't all that tough, really. You basically just fold the plastic sheeting in half and iron the edges to seal it. Leave one little corner open so that you can stick in the hosepipe to fill it; this is where you need patience because it's going to take a while to fill up. Once it's filled to your liking you can close that part up and you're sure to be hailed as mom of the year for making this backyard beauty! You could even add a bit of food coloring when filling it so that the water gets a colorful tint.
