Probably the Best Food Hack You’ll Ever See: Peeling Potatoes with Power Tools

Probably the Best Food Hack You'll Ever See: Peeling Potatoes with Power Tools...
I don't know how many potatoes a typical Russian consumes—maybe they need them to make all that vodka—but this is truly one of the coolest lifehacks I have ever come across in all my internet trawling. And that's saying a lot, since digging through the endless data on the internet is pretty much my job.

Everyone loves to eat potatoes, cooked to perfection, in all their many delicious forms, but let's be honest, no one likes doing the behind-the-scenes work of peeling the damn things.  I remember watching childhood cartoons and movies where the characters where punished with potato-peeling, and sometimes I feel like I am being punished when I have to get through anything more than four spuds. So I welcome anything that promises to make this task less tedious – even if it involves a power drill and toilet brush. Actually, especially if involves a power drill and toilet brush!

Maybe you're making a boatload of mash for a party, a bottomless pit of potato salad, or a mountain-load of French fries or thick, crispy wedges for a neighborhood BBQ. Whatever the reason, this is how you'll save time and sanity.
You will need:

  • The unruly starchy vegetables, of course
  • Power drill
  • NEW toilet brush (Unused! I can not stress that enough – and shouldn't have to)
  • Bucket of water

Cut off the rubber handle part of the newly purchased, has-never-been-used-before, toilet brush so that it can fit into the hole of the power drill (you still want the stick to be as long as possible). Pour out the 'taters into the bucket and fill it with water (not quite to the very top, though). Then simply stick the brush-drill hybrid in and let that puppy go! Since the skin of a potato is so thin, the spinning brush basically just scrubs it right off, saving you a lot of time and irritation. Plus, it looks like a hell of a lot more fun than a simple peeler, right?

Thank you, Crazy Russian Hacker! You may be a little crazy, but no one can deny your creative hacking abilities.
