I love a good piece of soft, chewy caramel; the flavor is pretty addictive, and the texture doesn't make me feel as if I'm chipping my teeth trying to bite through it. I was so delighted when I found this super easy recipe to make my own that I knew I just had to share it right away; something so yum that only takes six minutes to make in the microwave should not be kept a secret!
All you need is:
- ½ cup corn syrup
- ¼ cup butter
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ teaspoon salt (I like to crack a little bit more sea salt to make salted caramel; the sweet/salty combination is real winner in my book)
Six minutes in the microwave on full power will do the trick, but it's very important that you take it out to stir every two minutes.
After that's all done, pour it in a bowl, cool it for a few hours, slice, eat, sit back, and enjoy the gooey goodness!
