Can you really make your own OxyClean? Why, yes you can and we have a fabulously frugal recipe for you. OxyClean is great as a pretreatment for stains and soils but just like anything else, it is either expensive or filled with chemicals that you just don't want to use in your home.
To make your own, you just need water, washing soda (note that you can also use baking soda) and hydrogen peroxide. Just mix equal parts of peroxide and washing soda with a double part of water. For instance, mix 1 cup of water with ½ cups each of washing soda and peroxide.
Note that this is a liquid recipe so you can mix it in a spray bottle and then use it to pretreat stains or just anywhere that you would normally use OxyClean.
You can find washing soda at most grocery stores and stores like Wal-Mart or again, you can just use baking soda if you prefer.
