Science experiments are so much fun. Even if you are not a great fan of science in general, this balloon experiment is sure to make you smile and kids will love it. The gist of the project is to inflate balloons without actually blowing them up with air and it works great!
To do the project, you will need balloons of course, as well as baking soda, a plastic bottle (an empty water bottle will work nicely) and vinegar. You also need a funnel or two. Just pour vinegar into the empty bottle until it is filled about 1/3 of the way up. Then, pour baking soda into the balloon, filling it about ½ of the way up.
Place the balloon over the bottle opening, making sure that you do not spill out the baking soda and hold the baking soda from entering the bottle until you are ready to fill the balloon. Lift the balloon and let the baking soda fall into the bottle with vinegar.
As the mixture blends it will begin to fizz and the bubbles will fill the balloon!
