Fast and Easy DIY Methods for Fixing Cracked or Broken Fingernails

Ah, the broken fingernail. It's the bane of every woman's existence. At some point, most women have experienced it and filing the nail down is just the worst feeling in the world, particularly when your nails are long.

There are a number of DIY fixes for repairing cracked nails that will keep your nail intact until it grows out a bit. We have a few tips for you that are fast and easy to do so you can repair that broken nail even if you are headed out the door.

You will need a teabag. Just empty the tea out and cut enough of the teabag to fix the crack in the nail. Apply just a bit of clear base coat and then place the piece of teabag on your nail while the base coat is still wet. Once it dries, you can file off any rough edges and apply nail polish. This will hold the nail together until it grows enough that you can file it.

You can also use other items if you do not have a teabag handy. Super glue works really well for holding smaller cracks together or you can use gauze bandage or a small piece of paper towel for the patch. Remember to file away those rough edges before you polish so that your repair job is completely hidden.
