Did you know that you can make your own solar charger for your iPhone or iPod? We didn't either until we ran across this post from Instructables. It only costs around $20 and takes less than an hour to put together. This would be an excellent gift for someone you know who hates the short battery life of their iPhone and because the chargers from Apple are so expensive, this is an excellent alternative. You can find all of the how-tos on the site and there are also instructions for making a USB version of the charger if you prefer.
