A DIY Way to Refill Travel Toothpaste Tubes

travel

Okay so travel sized toothpaste tubes are not terribly expensive, but they can certainly add up if you travel a lot or if you have kids who are constantly on the go. There are adapters that you can buy to refill your smaller travel sized tube from a standard sized tube but – you don't actually have to have an adapter to do this.

You can just take the smaller and larger tubes and stick them together to push the toothpaste from one into the other. Or, you can make your own adapter by cutting the lids off of two tubes of toothpaste and gluing the top openings together. This creates an adapter that allows you to quickly and easily move the toothpaste from a larger tube into the smaller travel tube.

You could probably refill the smaller tube without making an adapter if you want but the point is to refill it instead of buying another one. Again, these small tubes don't cost much but hey, we like saving money wherever we can. Idea from Lifehacker. Instructional Photos By Lori Allen.
