Clogged toilets happen and sometimes they seem to be really stuck. Instead of calling the plumber or even getting out that plunger, you should take just a moment to consider this great no-plunge method for unclogging that toilet.
Note that if you have a really stubborn clog, you may need to pull out the plunger or even call the plumber. Sometimes clogs happen way down in the pipes and you may need additional help. However, before you wear out your arms plunging or spend a fortune on a plumber's visit, try this method first.
You simply have to take regular dishwashing liquid and squirt it generously into the toilet bowl. Follow with really hot water. Be sure that you put towels down just in case you overflow the toilet while unclogging.
Once you have the dishwashing liquid and hot water added to the toilet bowl, let it sit for just a few minutes. It can take about 20 minutes to be completely effective so step away from it for a while. When you come back, you should see that the water level has gone down just a bit. This means that it is working. Instead of flushing however, pour another bucket of water into the toilet bowl. If the clog has been pushed through, the water will empty the bowl and you can flush without worries of an overflow.
This is a really easy method to try and is certainly worth saving a few bucks on the plumber. The next time you have a stubborn toilet clog, try this method before wasting time on plungers or money on plumbers.
